In eastern Myanmar, the Karen National Union is fighting the world's longest civil war against a ruthless military junta. In their efforts to protect land rights and create more equitable relations between the civilian population and the rebel group, grassroots activists have pushed for the establishment of the Salween Peace Park, a radical experiment that tries to achieve indigenous self-determination through nature conservation.
